Our FLL Team Support Coaches

Owen Coffee

Owen is a satellite engineer with more than four years of experience mentoring FLL teams. He coached for three seasons and continues to support the program as a technical mentor, drawing on his engineering background to guide students in programming and problem-solving. In addition to his coaching, Owen has contributed as a speaker at community events, where he has led programming tutorials and shared his expertise with coaches and students. He remains committed to helping teams build both technical confidence and collaborative problem-solving skills.

Kit Kellam

Kit is a mechanical engineering student at the University of Maryland, College Park. He is in his second year coaching FLL, with a successful season last year that saw one of his teams advance to the state championship. Alongside coaching, he contributes to community events as a workshop leader on Core Values and team skills, helping teams strengthen both technical knowledge and collaboration. Kit continues to stay involved in the program, supporting students as they grow in robotics and STEM and encouraging them to explore engineering pathways.

Ryan Rich

Ryan has over seven years of experience mentoring FIRST® LEGO® League teams and volunteering with FIRST. His teams have reached the state championship three years in a row. In 2025, he was recognized internationally as an Inspire the Future: FIRST Educator Recognition Program Honoree, and he has also received several local FIRST LEGO League awards. Beyond competitions, Ryan is passionate about creating opportunities for students to discover their potential in STEM, and he works to make robotics an engaging and welcoming space for every participant.
